Wellington School of Business and Government partners with the Pan African Federation of Accountants
Wellington School of Business and Government has partnered with the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) in an agreement that will see the Business School support PAFA in the development of the accountancy profession in Africa.
PAFA is an African regional organisation which seeks to strengthen the voice of the accountancy profession as well as promote internationally recognised standards of professional competence and conduct within Africa.
“We are excited to partner with PAFA to utilise the knowledge and expertise we have at the Business School to contribute to the advancement and growth of accountancy in Africa,” says Head of School of Accounting and Commercial Law Associate Professor Carolyn Fowler.
Through the partnership the Business School will work with PAFA on joint research projects on specific policy-related issues that will facilitate public policy change and development in Africa. Wellington School of Business and Government will also offer courses to PAFA members, provide opportunities for doctoral training, and provide technical and advisory support on public sector accounting practice in Africa.
"PAFA is delighted to be partnering with the Business School,” says PAFA Technical Director Lebogang Senne. “It is our firm belief that this relationship will enable the creation and sharing of knowledge that will have a synergistic effect on the development and enhancement of the accounting profession in Africa.”
