The scholarships are tenable for one year, however previous recipients may apply for the scholarship in future years.

History or background of award
These Scholarships have been established by the Wellington Women Lawyers' Association.
Purpose of award
To assist women studying law at Victoria University of Wellington.
Applicants for this scholarship must be:
- Full-time undergraduate students studying at 200 level or above
- Studying for their LLB at Victoria University (Students studying for their LLM may also be considered).
How do students apply?
This scholarship may be held simultaneously with other awards.
The selection panel shall consist of two representatives of the Wellington Women Lawyers Association, a Female staff member of the VUW Law Faculty and the Convenor of the Scholarships Committee (or nominee). The Manager of the Finance Advisory Service may also be involved in the selection process.
How and when do students learn of the decision?
The selection will be made primarily on the basis of financial need. Factors such as each applicant’s commitment to study, family and community involvement will also be assessed. Secondary consideration will be given to academic achievement although the successful students will have proven their ability to continue in the study of Law.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The Victoria University Foundation will ask recipients to write thank you letters on receiving the Award and an end of year progress report to the Wellington Women Lawyers Association.
