Fees for domestic students

Find out all you need to know about fees if you are a domestic student (a citizen or a New Zealand resident or permanent resident).

Important fee information

Domestic students are generally citizens, residents or permanent residents of New Zealand, but this category includes some other groups as set out in section three of the Fees Statute 2019.

Tuition fees are calculated on a per point basis. Each course has a number of points associated with it, so the amount charged will vary depending on your choice of courses.

Fees-free tertiary study

For 2019, first-time tertiary domestic learners may be eligible for fees-free study. Find out more about fees-free study at Victoria.

Additional costs

Some courses have additional costs for items such as study materials, equipment or field trips. There are also additional administrative costs when ordering transcripts and replacement student ID cards. A full list of these administrative costs can be viewed in Appendix D of the Fees Statute.
