Academic transcripts are official records of your study and achievements that you may need to provide when applying for a job, scholarship or further study.
Find out how to order academic transcripts, what they include, and how to access and share certified digital versions of your transcripts through myeQuals.
All transcripts will include:
- your legal name and student ID number
- the status of your qualification (whether your degree is sought, completed or granted)
- your course results, listed chronologically
- any points accrued towards your Victoria University qualifications based on courses from other institutions
- any awards and scholarships you’ve been awarded during your studies
- entrance qualifications, eg. NCEA, Bursary, Special Admission
For information on understanding the codes and acronyms on transcripts, read our page on understanding transcripts.
When you've completed a qualification at Victoria University, you’ll receive a free digital copy of your academic transcript through the myeQuals platform. This digital document is issued once completion of your study has been verified by your Faculty Office. On graduation, you’ll also receive a free digital copy of your degree certificate.
Read about accessing your transcripts, document security and how to share transcripts on our myeQuals page.
If you completed your qualification before July 2018, or require a transcript before you’ve completed your qualification, you can apply for a transcript from your Faculty Office. Transcript requests may take up to seven working days to be processed.
If you require a digital transcript or your transcript(s) to be posted within New Zealand, use the Transcripts (Postage within New Zealand) form.
If you want the transcripts(s) posted overseas, use the Transcripts (International Postage) form.
If you attended the Wellington College of Education before 2005, you can also apply for an academic transcript using these forms.
If you have special requests (e.g. signed and sealed, or transcripts to be posted to multiple addresses), please indicate this in the ‘Additional Information’ section of the form. Your Faculty will contact you regarding any additional costs.
Please note you’ll need to pay any outstanding fines or fees owing to the University, such as overdue library book fines, before you can receive a copy of these documents.
From July 2018, digital transcripts are issued to you free of charge when you complete your qualification.
If you need a digital transcript for qualifications completed before July 2018, or before completing your qualification, there is a NZ$20 fee.
If you require a hard copy of your official transcript, the standard fee is NZ$20 for the first copy and NZ$10 for each additional copy, plus postage or courier costs.
Certificate of Completion
These are only provided in special circumstances for students who have completed the requirements for their qualification but have not yet formally graduated.
A Certificate of Completion states that you’ve completed your qualification and lists the majors that you studied.
If you require a certificate of completion, contact your Faculty Office.
