Old Boys University Rugby Football Club
OBU provides rugby training and playing opportunities for male and female students of all ages and abilities.
OBU is one of New Zealand’s largest senior rugby clubs, with first class facilities like our artificial training surface at Boyd-Wilson, expert coaching, and the best social spirit in Wellington rugby. There is something for everyone keen on enjoying their rugby.
OBU is the current Jubilee Cup holder and Swindale Shield champions and has over 250 Victoria University of Wellington students playing and many more alumni involved. In recent years we have dominated the Colts Grade, with 5 in a row champion seasons and also boasted 6 NZ Under 20 team players in the last 3 years. There’s also plenty of rugby for everyone, with a great Women's program, excellent under 85kg teams, and of course the backbone of the club, the social teams.
OBU Rugby Academy
An intensive development programme for identified OBU players. The academy helps players fulfil their potential and transition into representative rugby.
