Generation Zero—Victoria branch
Generation Zero is a nationwide youth-led organisation that works to promote solutions to climate change.
Our member base is composed of active students and young professionals, as well as older supporters. We have branches at University of Auckland, AUT, Waikato, Massey, Victoria University of Wellington, Canterbury and Otago Universities.
Our Wellington-based group runs events including weekend retreats, evening workshops, presentation evenings, film fundraisers, and co-ordinates volunteer activities that contribute to GenZero’s national campaigns.
This includes distributing flyers, door-knocking with electoral enrolment forms, gathering submission, and occasional civil demonstrations or creative stunts around Wellington.
Generation Zero also exists in Wellington and nationwide as an inclusive organisation that goes beyond student involvement. We see branches like Generation Zero Victoria as important for providing avenues for students to be involved, and developing leadership skills which are critical for our organisations continued existence and leadership succession.
