Dr Deborah Laurs

My doctorate is in New Zealand children’s literature and I taught academic writing, English literature, drama and media studies at Massey University. At Victoria, I work with all students (primarily thesis students), and am responsible for Student Learning’s PG research skills seminars and ‘thesis-writing’ workshops. I also coordinate the PASS (Peer Assisted Study Support) programme, which offers voluntary study sessions in core 100-level courses and train student leaders and university tutors. My interests include horse-riding and handcrafts, and my current research focuses on student leadership and doctoral writing.
