These workshops are useful at any stage of your study. The workshops will help new and returning students. If you have felt lost, or wondered where to start, or how to improve your study and essays — come along. The workshops are short and provide a safe place for you to ask any kind of question you like. Pick up new skills and develop the ones you already have — reach your full potential!

These workshops will be held in Student Learning Meeting Room, Level 0 Kirk.

What do I need to know for this trimester?

The purpose of this workshop is to provide students with knowledge of the services that are available to them on campus and the skills that are required for a successful university career.

This workshop aims at the art of relevant note taking and listening skills that can help provide clues to final assignments and exams.

Practical essay writing skills

A large amount of university assignments are essay base. This workshop will provide you with the tools and skills to write a university essay confidently with an emphasis on referencing.

Māori drop-ins

All Māori students can 'drop in' and get assistance and learning advice in a 15-30 minute time slot, at different venues:
