Dr Vipul Jain is a Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Victoria Business School, joining the school from a role as Assistant Professor at University of Sharjah, UAE and IIT Delhi, India.
Dr Jain has also worked as a French Government researcher forthe French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control at Nancy, France, and was also involved in the European project I*PROMS (Innovative Production Machines and Systems) from UK.
Dr Jain has more than 100 archival publications to his credit in high impact factor journals, as well as conference papers and books chapters, andis also the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Intelligent Enterprise and an Editorial Board member for seven international journals. Dr. Jain has also guest edited special issues of prestigious international journals in the areas of Operations and Supply Chain Management. Vipul is ranked 7th in India in a list of top 20 Indian leading academicians publishing in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain management in an exhaustive study entitled “Analysis of the Logistics research in India- white paper (2012), pp.1-11” conducted by researchers from Institute of Transport Logistics, Dortmund University, Institute for Supply Chain and Network Management, TechnischeUniversität Darmstadt, and University of Münster, Germany.
Vipul has supervised 7 PhD students (6 sole supervision and 1 jointly), 18 Masters, 1 Honours and 24 Undergraduate (Bachelors of Engineering) students to completion since 2009. Vipul have developed strong international networks and relationships which have resulted in joint publications. To name a few, Vipul is collaborating with contemporary faculties from the given institutions:Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Applied Sciences, Geneva Switzerland, University of St. Thomas, Opus College of Business, Minneapolis, USA, University of Michigan- Dearbon College of Business, USA, Southern New Hampshire University, USA, University of Madrid, Spain, National University of Singapore, ETS Montreal, Canada, Concordia University, Canada, Nottingham University Business School, China, Indian Institute of Technology’s (IIT’s) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM’s), EPFL Switzerland, University of Sharjah etc.
Vipul is involved as a scientific and advisory committee member for various prestigious international conferences and has chaired many sessions in INFORMS, IEEE IEEM conferences in USA, Europe, Hong Kong, Asia etc. He was the Programme Coordinator for the Masters in Industrial Engineering Programme at IIT Delhi, and has been actively involved in conducting Management Development Programmes/Training Programmes for Senior Managers and Executives of Public and Private Organisations in India on various issues and challenges encountered in Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management.
