Introduction

John Davies joined the Department of Business Administration at Victoria University in 1980, following prior work at the Welsh Regional Management Centre (now the University of South Wales); in local government; and as an operational researcher in the cable industry. He retired from his Faculty role of Associate Dean, International & Executive Education in 2017, having also served a five-year term as Chairman of the Management Group in the 1990s, and as Head of Victoria Management School from 2005 to 2009.

John has also served terms as President of the Western Decision Sciences Institute (WDSI) and Vice-President of the Operational Research Society of New Zealand (ORSNZ).
