Constructing a VET system: How might Peru learn from other good practices in the Asia-Pacific

Government Buildings Lecture Theatre 3 (ground floor of main building)

As part of its drive to become a member of OECD, Peru is seeking to develop a strong Vocational and Educational Training (VET) system to support its economic development. This seminar will address considerations for the design of VET policies that Peru can undertake from the most relevant VET systems across Asia-Pacific countries, such as New Zealand, Australia and Canada, using a policy transfer approach.

Speaker

Maria Del Carmen Nano Amburgo from Peru recently completed her Master of Commerce research project in the School of Government at this University. Her project was motivated by wanting to help Peru in its mission to support small and medium enterprises to acquire the skilled work forces they need to thrive. An effective Vocational Education and Training (VET) system is one of the key elements for doing this.
