Victoria Professor delivers lecture for the Association for Symbolic Logic
Professor Rod Downey of the School of Mathematics and Statistics delivered the 29th Annual Goedel Lecture for the Association for Symbolic Logic at its Summer Meeting in Udine, Italy from 23-28 July.
The Goedel lectureship is one of the highest honours from the Association, and Professor Downey is the first logician from outside Europe/North America to deliver this address.
Professor Downey most recently won a second Shoenfield Prize (with ex-postdoc Denis Hirschfeldt from the University of Chicago) and last year's Humboldt Research Prize.
