Professor Fam, who is originally from Malacca, was awarded the honour by the Governor of Malacca, Dr. Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob, for his service to the region. He is known for promoting Malacca through his international seminar series, assisting Malaysian students studying in Wellington with adjusting to the local culture, and supervising over 20 Master’s students and several PhD students from Malaysia.

“I want to congratulate Professor Fam on his well-deserved award,” says Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Wellington School of Business and Government Professor Ian Williamson.

“At the Business School we are focussed on developing strong connections and partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region. The efforts of Professor Fam, and our other talented academics working in this area, are helping us to achieve this.”
