Wellington Japan Festival Cosplay Competition

Cosplay Competition

As cosplay (costume play – the art of dressing up your favourite character) becomes more popular around the world, it has increasingly attracted academic attention – not only studying cosplay, but doing cosplay as well!

Dr Emerald King of the Japanese Programme is pleased to announce a new cosplay competition that the School of Languages and Cultures is hosting with the support of Overload: Manga+Popular Culture Convention, The Wellington City Council, the Wellington Japan Festival.

Taking centre stage at the Wellington Japan Festival on 26 November at the end of the year, the competition is open to all costumes (bought and constructed) and all ages.
