BA student wins prestigious Guggenheim internship

Victoria Munn, a graduating Bachelor of Arts student with majors in Art History and Political Science, is off to Venice in the new year to intern at the world-famous Peggy Guggenheim Collection museum.

Student Victoria Munn stands smiling in front of trees.

The talented student has had the internship in mind throughout her degree and her hard work has turned the dream into reality.

“I’m looking forward to leading tours of the collection and being able to experience Renaissance art and architecture.”

Victoria, who took two Italian language courses this year specifically to apply for the internship, credits the support of Italian teaching fellow, Barbara Pezzotti, and PhD student, Francesca Benocci.

“Thanks to my studies, not only have my Italian language skills improved, but I have learnt a lot about Italian culture.”

She hopes the experience will provide a “greater Italian fluency, a local knowledge of Venice and the chance to be involved in the day-to-day workings of an amazing modern art collection.”

The highly sought-after internship programme is offered to Italian and international art and art history students, and provides the opportunity to gain practical insight into museum operations and visitor interaction, attend seminars and conferences, and experience the cultural heart of Italy.
