FHSS110 - Reading the World
How do languages and cultures interrelate, and how can we read them in the world around us?

Taught in English, this multidisciplinary course will provide you with insights into how languages and cultures shape and reflect identity by critically engaging with a wide variety of global texts and objects located in New Zealand's capital city and beyond.

Focussing in particular on the role of Asian, European and Latin American languages and cultures in New Zealand, the Asia-Pacific region and the world, students will analyse how cultural and linguistic identities are expressed and represented and examine how knowledge of different languages and cultures transforms our experience of the world and benefits local and global communities.

This course is open to students from all areas of study and will give you a greater international perspective.
