Honours Student of Italian to present at International Conference

Rory Mackenzie — What started off as a Summer Scholarship in 2014/15 is about to lead Victoria student of Italian, Rory McKenzie, to new heights.

His work on subtitling New Zealand cultural references in The Dark Horse (2014) which laid the foundations for an Honours 489 research project focusing on the representation of Italian dialect in English subtitles has recently led to his acceptance to the “Translating “Local” Flavor for Global Audiences: Transcultural Perspectives in Italian Studies” conference in Vancouver, Canada to be held in April 2016.
