Congratulations and おめでとうございます!

Jay Tweedle
Student of Japanese, Jay Tweddle, wins third place in the national 2015 JSANZ Tertiary Japanese Language Speech Competition.

The competition is organised annually by Japanese Studies Aotearoa New Zealand, and is sponsored by the Sasakawa Felowship Fund for Japanese Language Education and the Japan Foundation. It is open to all tertiary students of Japanese in New Zealand.

Jay’s speech in Japanese, titled "Fujimura Shin’ichi and the Relationship between Archaeological Fraud and Science Fiction",  set a high academic standard in its originality and delivery.

Jay was recipient of The Ambassador’s Prize for Japanese Studies in 2014.
