Edwina Palmer bestowed with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette
Associate Professor Edwina Palmer, who recently retired from the School of Languages and Cultures, received a great honour from the Japanese government and was bestowed with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette for her research on Japanese culture and her services in educating New Zealanders about Japan over a forty-year period. A ceremony to celebrate this honour was held at the Japanese Ambassador's residence and attended by many of Edwina's former colleagues in the School as well.
