The School of Languages and Cultures invites applications for the following tutor positions in 2019

Language Tutoring positions (daytime)

The School of Languages and Cultures invites applications for part-time tutoring positions in undergraduate Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Samoan language courses, held at the Kelburn campus.  The roles include tutoring language classes and student consultation. Assessment and marking may also be required.

Language Tutoring positions (evening)

The School of Languages and Cultures invites applications for tutoring positions in Trimester 1 2019. The roles include tutoring language classes.  Assessment and marking may also be required. There are positions available in the following courses:

  • CHIN 101 (Chinese Language 1A) Tuesday 5.40-7.30pm, Pipitea campus
  • SPAN 101 (Intro to the Spanish Language) Tuesdays 5.40-7.30pm, Pipitea campus

Other Tutoring positions

The School of Languages and Cultures invites applications for tutoring positions in the following courses:

  • ASIA 101 (New Zealand and Asia) Trimester 1
  • CLAS 106 (Ancient Civilisations: the Greeks and the Romans) Trimester 1
  • CLAS 207 (Roman Social History) Trimester 1
  • CLAS 212 (Animals and Monsters) Trimester 1
  • CLAS 312 (Myth, Art & Gods) Trimester 1
  • PASI 101 (The Pacific Heritage) Trimester 1

The roles include tutoring, marking (where required), and student consultation.

Expressions of interest are sought from those who are native or near native speakers, hold a university qualification and/or have experience in teaching a foreign language to students at university.  Applications from current SLC postgraduate students, as well as previous tutors, are encouraged.
