Chinese Major through to Top 15
Anna de Boer advances to the Top 15 of the International Chinese Bridge Speech Competition in China.
Victoria University of Wellington student and Chinese Major, Anna de Boer [安然] has advanced to the Top 15 of the Chinese Bridge Speech Competition (University Level). Anna is the only Kiwi through to the top 15 Final Round of the Speech Competition currently being held in Changsha, China!
Students studying Chinese from all over the world gather to compete in a competition that challenges foreigners on their knowledge of Chinese Language and Culture. Advancing to the Top 30 is a huge feat, so being a part of the Top 15 is testament to Anna’s hard-work and passion towards her Chinese language journey. Anna will be the first Kiwi into the Top 15 since 2015 so advancing to the finals is a phenomenal and momentous achievement!
Anna will represent the Confucius Institute at Victoria University of Wellington, in the final on August 4th.
