Rodreck's undergraduate dissertation was published as an original case study by the South African Journal of Information Management, entitled: "A cost benefit analysis of document management strategies used at a financial institution in Zimbabwe: A case study". He was awarded the Tetley and Lupton Scholarship to study in the United Kingdom, with his MSc dissertation entitled "Modelling pre-natal care pathways at a central hospital in Zimbabwe".

He worked as a staff development fellow and then as a lecturer of Information Management and Informatics at the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe) for three years, teaching in the areas of process modelling, health information systems, informatics, and electronic records management to undergraduate students. Rodreck started his PhD in Information Systems as a Victoria Doctoral Scholarship recipient in 2017.
