Information Management student Siddharth Patel took part in the Summer Scholarship scheme, where students engage in work that contributes to an ongoing research project across the summer break.

Siddharth’s project concerned the development and evaluation of a process model that gives specific recommendations for IT project management practitioners on how to ‘upgrade’ an existing project management methodologies from local to globally distributed software development (GDSD).

His tasks comprised searching the most recent research literature on the topic for aspects that were not yet covered by the model, and providing suggestions on how to refine the model accordingly.

The Summer Gold Competition acknowledges the research achievements of the students who participated in the recent Summer Research scholarship programme by inviting them to design a poster or create a video about their research, in collaboration with their supervisor.

Siddharth won $500 for his poster illustrating the Summer Research project Refining and Validating a Process Model for Globally Distributed Software Development (GDSD), which was supervised by Dr Andreas Drechsler.
