Summer research posters on display in Hub

Entries for this year’s Summer Gold Awards will be on display in the Victoria University of Wellington Hub from 2—15 April.

The summer scholarship programme offers students the opportunity to work on a research project over the summer period under the guidance of an academic.

The Gold Awards acknowledge the research achievements of students who worked on a Summer Scholarship project and entered a poster or video describing the process and outcomes of their work.

This is the ninth year in which the awards have been held. 75 entries, including 11 videos, were submitted this year and will be judged by a panel of academic and professional staff. Prizes will be awarded for best overall poster, best video, best faculty poster, best visual presentation and the most engaging demonstration of research.

Prizes are awarded in each of the following categories:

  • Best overall Poster
  • Best overall Video
  • Best Poster in each Faculty or academic grouping
  • Best Visual Presentation
  • Most engaging demonstration of research

Last year’s Gold Award winners included the creation of a website enabling people to visit interesting geological features and land forms while another explored the distribution of the University's student population.
