Eligibility

This prize is an annual award for a full-time second year or above performance student progressing to further study in Classical Piano.

The student must be enrolled full-time in a BMus, BMus(Hons) or other equivalent in performance majoring in Piano. Piano students are preferred but if there is no suitable pianist in any year, other instrumentalists may be considered.

Information

The prize was established by the Expressions Piano Trust, Upper Hutt, via the Victoria University Foundation to encourage performance students in Classical Piano at Te Kōkī, New Zealand School of Music (NZSM).

The prize is awarded to the best full-time second year or above performance student of Classical Piano, based on the combined results of their final recital and year's work. It is contingent on their enrolment in the following year, and their agreement to perform in the Expressions concert at a mutually agreeable time that year.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks which will be forwarded to the donor.
