This prize has been established through the Victoria University Foundation by Professor Bob Buckle to support students from Whangarei Boys High School and from Whangarei Girls High School attending Victoria University of Wellington and to encourage students from those respective colleges to undertake a NZ university education.

This prize has been established through the Victoria University Foundation by Professor Bob Buckle to support students from Whangarei Boys High School and from Whangarei Girls High School attending Victoria University of Wellington and to encourage students from those respective colleges to undertake a NZ university education.

1. One prize will be contestable annually for students from Whangarei Boys High School (WBHS) and one prize will be contestable annually for students from Whangarei Girls High School (WGHS).

2. The recipient of each prize must be enrolled in a full-time course of study in their first year at Victoria University of Wellington in any undergraduate degree, majoring in any subject.

3. The prize will be awarded to the top academic student from WBHS and the top academic student from WGHS who is enrolled at Victoria university of Wellington. To qualify for the prize, the students will need to achieve a NCEA Level 3 certificate endorsed with Merit or Excellence.

4. The prizes will have a value of approximately $500 each, each year, but the amount awarded could be higher and will be dependent on interest income earned and the size of the fund.

5. The recipient will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will be forwarded to the donor.
