Eligibility
This prize was established in 2011 and is offered to the most innovative class 5 project (Years 11-13) in the annual NIWA Wellington Regional Science and Technology Fair and must be taken the year following completion of secondary school.
Information
- One prize will be awarded annually to the most innovative project.
- Preference will be given to a Year 13 project; however, should a suitable Year 13 project not be available the prize may be allocated to either a Year 12 or 11 project.
- The prize will be awarded only once to any winner, irrespective of how many times an individual participates in the fair.
- In the event a prize is awarded to a project completed by two or more people, the value of the prize will be split between the participants.
- No award shall be made in any year in which the selection panel considers there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
- The prize will be provided as a payment of up to $5,000 towards first-year living costs once enrolment at Victoria University of Wellington is confirmed.
- Should the recipient also have been awarded a Victoria University Excellence or Achiever Scholarship, they may apply for the difference in fees to be covered by this award.
