This prize was established in 2009 by the Rotary Club of Wellington, with the support of a grant from the John Illott Charitable Trust, to acknowledge the top student undertaking Music at Honours level who is undertaking further study.

This prize was established in 2009 by the Rotary Club of Wellington with the support of a grant from the John Illott Charitable Trust to acknowledge the top student undertaking Music at Honours level who is undertaking further study.

1. One prize will be awarded annually to top student at the end of the Honours in Music year who is moving on to further study. The student will be selected by the School of Music in the relevant year and the prize will be awarded by the Academic Board.

2. The prize will have a value of $2,500.

3. The winner may be the recipient of other awards.

4. No award shall be made in any year in which the Academic Board, on the advice of the School of Music, considers there is no candidate of sufficient merit. If in any year the prize is not awarded, the funds may be used in a subsequent year.

5. The recipient will be invited to perform at the Rotary Club of Wellington end of year Christmas lunch.

6. Recipients will be asked to write letter of appreciation which will be forwarded to the donor.
