Eligibility

Founded by the late Professor Francis Prenderville Wilson, Professor of History from 1921-1934, whose bequest was for the establishment of prizes or scholarships to promote the study of the history of New Zealand.
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is preparing a thesis for the degree of Master of Arts on a topic of New Zealand History.

Information

Founded by the late Professor Francis Prenderville Wilson, Professor of History from 1921-1934, who bequeathed his residuary estate for the establishment of prizes or scholarships to promote the study of the history of New Zealand.

This scholarship may be awarded annually to the student who, having completed the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours, is preparing a thesis for the degree of Master of Arts on a topic of New Zealand History and in the opinion of the Head of the History Programme is the best such student and is worthy of the award.

The scholarship shall be tenable only by a student who has satisfied the Head of the History Programme that he/she is devoting substantially the whole of his/her time to University studies during the academic year in which the award is made.
