Joan Mattingley and Charles Cameron Trust Travel Award

This award is open to undergraduate, Hons, postgraduate or PhD students for travel expenses, studying under the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences, or New Zealand School of Music.
History and purpose1.This award has resulted from a Bequest from Dr Joan Mattingley who graduated with a PhD in Biological Chemistry in 1977. Her husband Charles Cameron had a lifelong interest in music.
2.To provide funds at the discretion of the Foundation Trustees for travel overseas or within New Zealand to students of music and chemistry in alternate years.
Selection criteriaStudents will be chosen by relevant academics in each school in the relevant year of awarding.
No award shall be made in any year in which the Selection Panel considers there is no candidate of sufficient merit. If in any year the Prize is not awarded, the funds may be used in a subsequent year.
Number offeredOne, with the option of more, subject to available funds.
Decision makersA selection panel comprising Deans and senior staff of the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences and the New Zealand School of Music in the relevant year.
What conditions are attached to the acceptance of this award?Recipients will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will then be forwarded to the donor.
