Eligibility

Students must apply for the Wellington Graduate Award.

This prize is awarded to the candidate who:

1. would have been the next female in order of merit to be offered a Wellington Graduate Award if sufficient funds had been available; and
2. is deemed worthy of the award.

Information

This scholarship was established in 1988 by the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women (Inc) and is designed to encourage advanced university study by women.

Applicants must apply for a Wellington Graduate Award. The prize is offered to the next female students on the list for a Wellington Graduate Award after the recipients for a Wellington Graduate Award have been selected.

If there is no suitable female candidate, the scholarship may be awarded to a male candidate who would have been the next male in order of merit to be offered a Wellington Graduate Award if sufficient funds had been available, and is also deemed worthy of the award.

The prize may be awarded concurrently with any other Bursary or Scholarship, expect for the Wellington Graduate Award, provided that the rules of the other awards allow this.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
