MPA Awards CPA Australia Prize for the most outstanding student completing the MPA degree.

Value:

$500 cash plus one year's associate membership and one professional level segment (to the value of NZ$1,250) which is to be presented to the recipient at a prize-giving to be organised by the faculty.

Eligibility

CPA Australia is one of the world's largest accounting bodies with a global membership of more than 150,000 members working in 120 countries around the world, with more than 25,000 members working in senior leadership positions. CPA Australia want to support high achieving students studying Accountancy and Finance at Victoria University.

Information

Purpose of award

The purpose of this prize is to recognise the student with the best grades on the MPA programme. The aim is to assist a student who will be contributing in the future to the NZ and international accounting environment.

Selection criteria

1. The award will be academic achievement based on GPA for a student completing the MPA programme..
2. Eligible students should be nominated by the Head of the Faculty of Commerce and Administration at Victoria University.
3. In order to be eligible, students must be enrolled for study in the MPA programme, which is accredited by CPA Australia, towards fulfilling their core curriculum requirements.
4. The recipient will be selected initially by the Programme Director, followed by consultation/agreement with CPA Australia and CPA Australia may request interviews with short-listed candidates, as part of this process.

How and when do students learn of the decision?

The student will be contacted by the Scholarships Office to advise them that they have been awarded the prize.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?

The successful student may be invited to have photographs taken and conduct an interview with CPA Australia if they wish to. The photographs and interview may be included in CPA Australia's promotional materials, with the student's consent. Additional information
The recipient will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will then be forwarded to the donor.
