W H (Bill) Vaughan, a founding trustee of the Mathematics Trust, worked for many years writing, printing and distributing model solutions to University Entrance Bursary and Scholarship Examinations. The Trust funds are used to encourage and support Mathematics in a variety of ways. This prize, established via the Victoria University Foundation, is awarded to the best student completing the Mathematics major.

Information

W H (Bill) Vaughan, a founding trustee of the Mathematics Trust, worked for many years writing, printing and distributing model solutions to University Entrance Bursary and Scholarship Examinations. The accumulated funds held in the Trust are used to encourage and support Mathematics in a variety of ways, and this prize, established through the Victoria University Foundation, is one of these ways.

1. The prize shall be known as the W H (Bill) Vaughan Prize in Mathematics.

2. The prize shall be awarded annually by the Academic Board, on the recommendation of the Head of the School(or nominee), to the best student completing the mathematics major.

3. The value of the prize shall be approximately $200 each year.

4. The prize may be held in conjunction with other awards.

5. Recipients will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will be forwarded appropriately.
