Eligibility

Every year, the Law Faculty awards prizes and scholarships to students in recognition of their hard work and talents with many being named after earlier alumni or staff. These two prizes are named for the late Quentin Quentin-Baxter, a former Law Professor at Victoria University of Wellington. The prizes are:
1. Top Student International Law (LAWS 340).
2. LLM Prize in Public and International Law - for the best piece of research on Public Law, International Law, or law relating to indigenous peoples or the laws of the Pacific.

Information

Every year, the Law Faculty awards prizes and scholarships to students in recognition of their hard work and talents. Many of the prizes are in the name of earlier alumni or staff and, in this way, the outstanding qualities of both the past and present are interwoven. These two prizes are named for the late Quentin Quentin-Baxter, a former Professor of Law at Victoria University of Wellington. The prizes are:

1. Annual Prize in International Law: awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, has done the best year's work in International Law (LAWS 340).

2. Annual Prize in Public and International Law: awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, submits the best piece of research for the degree of Master of Laws, or for an LLM paper, either by way of research paper or by thesis, on any aspect of public law, international law, the law relating to indigenous peoples or the laws of the Pacific.

3. Recipients will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will be forwarded appropriately.
