This prize is awarded to the best student enrolled in specified 30 points of 100-level courses in Biology.

Information

This prize arises from a fund subscribed in 1946 by ex-students of the Victoria University of Wellington to commemorate the work of Professor H B Kirk in the Chair of Biology 1903-1944.

The prize is open to any student enrolled in 30 points of 100-level courses in Biology except that this shall not include BIOL 132 and must include at least one of BIOL 113, BIOL 114.

The prize is offered annually and is awarded to the student who, on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Biological Sciences, is judged to be the best student of the year and worthy of the award.

The value of the prize is determined after consideration of the income from the fund. The balance of income not expended shall be added to the fund.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
