This prize is awarded for merit in performance to a student enrolled with the New Zealand School of Music in a performance course on a bowed string instrument.

Information

This prize arises from a fund donated by Sir Roy Jack shortly before his death in 1977.

The prize is awarded to a student enrolled with the School of Music in a performance course on a bowed string instrument.

The prize is for merit in performance and shall be awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the New Zealand School of Music.

The donor requests the recipient use the prize money the purchase a book, or books. Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
