This prize is awarded to a student in Political Science and International Relations whose work on Israel is deemed to be of outstanding merit.

Information

This prize is sponsored by the Embassy of Israel. It is offered to a student whose work on Israel is deemed to be of outstanding merit. Topics of work include:

  • the political and constitutional system in Israel
  • the impact of immigration on political life in Israel
  • the electoral system of Israel
  • Israel and the Middle East
  • Israel's bilateral relations with its neighbours
  • multilateral cooperation for development in the Middle East
  • Israel's democracy in the context of the Middle East
  • the significance of the Holocaust for Israel and the Jewish people.

OR any additional topic to be determined by the Head of the School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, in consultation with the academic staff and Head of Programme in Political Science and International Relations.

The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, in consultation with the academic staff and Head of Programme in Political Science and International Relations.

A copy of the winning essay may be provided to the Ambassador for Israel.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately. Recipients' names will be inscribed on the Honours Board at the premises of the Political Science and International Relations programme.
