This prize is awarded to the best student in 100 level courses in the School of Psychology.

Information

This prize is provided from a fund subscribed by friends of Victoria University of Wellington to commemorate the work of Sir Thomas Hunter, Principal Emeritus, and for over forty years Professor of Mental and Moral Philosophy.

The prize is offered annually and is awarded to the student judged by the Head of the School of Psychology to be the best student worthy of the prize.

The value of a prize in any year shall be determined after consideration of the income from the fund and the number of prize winners. If in any year the whole of the income from the fund is not expended the balance may be used in a subsequent year or may be added to the capital fund.

The donor requests the recipient spend part of the prize money on a book, or books.

The recipient will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
