Information

The prize arises from a fund subscribed in 1981 by friends of John and Maria Dronke, on the occasion of their golden wedding, to commemorate their contributions to the cultural life of the community especially in drama.

The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Head of Section, Theatre, School of English, Film and Theatre. It is awarded to a student who has completed meritorious work in any aspect and at any level of drama studies, whether in acting, directing, design, playwriting, criticism, or research.

The value of the prize in any year shall be determined after consideration of the income from the fund. If in any year the whole of the income from the fund is not expended the balance shall be added to the capital fund.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
