This prize arose from a fund subscribed by staff, students and friends of Professor J T Campbell, Head of the Mathematics Department 1952-1968, upon his retirement. It is awarded to the best student in MATH 277.

Information

This prize arises from a fund subscribed by staff, students and friends of Professor J T Campbell, Head of the Mathematics Department 1952-1968, upon his retirement.

1. The prize shall be known as the J T Campbell Prize for Statistics and shall be awarded annually to the student attending the class of MATH 277 who, in the opinion of the Head of the School of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, is worthy of the award and is the best student of the year in this class.

2. The value of the prize shall be determined by the Academic Board after consideration of the income from the fund. The balance of income not expended shall be added to the fund.

3. Part of the prize money shall be spent on a book, or books.
