This prize was established at the time of the Earth Sciences Centenary in 2009 to honour the work of Michael Crozier as the first Professor of Geomorphology at Victoria University Wellington. It shall be awarded to the student who has achieved excellent results in 300 level physical geography courses and who is judged most likely to continue to achieve excellent results in postgraduate study.

Information

This prize was established at the time of the Earth Sciences Centenary in 2009 to honour the work of Michael Crozier as the first professor of Geomorphology at Victoria University Wellington.

It shall be awarded annually to the student who has achieved excellent results in 300 level physical geography courses and who is judged most likely to continue to achieve excellent results in postgraduate study.

The successful recipient shall be selected by the Programme Director of the Physical Geography Board of Studies (or nominee) with the advice of the relevant course coordinators. The prize will be signed off by the Head of School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences and forwarded to the Scholarships Office in the end of year Prize Memo.

The prize may be held in conjunction with other awards.

No award shall be made in any year in which the University Scholarships Committee, on the advice of the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences, considers there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
