Glasshouses

greenhouseThe School maintains three large glasshouses used to grow material for botany laboratory experiments and a variety of graduate research projects.

The glasshouses have spectacular views of Wellington harbour and the Rimutaka ranges.

VUCEL glasshouseThe glasshouses have been recently refurbished with new cooling fans and heaters to optimise temperature control.

In addition, the School maintains four growth rooms with complete light and temperature control, used to incubate organisms as diverse as mosses, higher plants, insects and frogs.

The Victoria Coastal Ecology Lab, situated in Island Bay, also has a glasshouse (shown right).
