Current Research

My current research involves an appointment as Principal Investigator of a large UK based cohort, the Hertfordshire Cohort Study, where I work with colleagues to consider the determinants of musculoskeletal ageing.

In New Zealand, my research has focused on the effects of alcohol abuse on bone health in women; the association between sexually transmitted infections and reactive arthritis; fracture in areas of high endemic fluoride concentration; and most recently how sporting activity impacts bone health in adolescents and young adults.
