Bill Jordan has used cellular and molecular techniques to analyse and detect human diseases including cancer and infectious disease, and for a wide range of projects related to animal and plant production. He was a founder of large-scale profiling of proteins (proteomics) in New Zealand and was a Director of the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO), a Council Member and Vice-President of the Asia Oceania Human Proteome Organisation (AOHUPO) and Director of the AOHUPO Membrane Proteomics Initiative.
Bill was the founding Director of the Victoria University of Wellington's Centre for Biodiscovery. Awards include Life Membership and Medal of the Wellington Medical Research Foundation, and the New Zealand Association of Scientists Research Medal.
