During January, the School of Accounting and Commercial Law had great pleasure in hosting Professor Giuseppe Grossi, who is currently a Chair at Nord University Business School in Bodø, Norway. He was previously Professor of Business Administration in Public Management, Kristianstad in Sweden.

The visit was largely taken up with a number of interviews to further progress on a research project (jointly with Professor Rachel Baskerville) on International Public Sector Standards, and the issues and challenges of their adoption in New Zealand two years ago.

As well as these interviews, Giuseppe presented a seminar on "Governmentality and performance measurement for the Smart City", which was well attended and of considerable interest to those attending from both central and local government.

Professor Grossi also presented to staff at the Palmerston North campus of Massey University on "The impact of shifting logics on performance measurement practices in hybrid universities".

Professor Grossi invites those interested in either of these areas of research to contact him directly at Nord University: giuseppe.grossi@nord.se
