Achievements ceremony celebrates top SACL students

SACL's top students were honoured in front of staff, friends and family recently at an Achievements Ceremony in the Hunter Council Chamber.

Thirty-four students received Certificates of Excellence in recognition of their high academic performance in Accounting, Commercial Law or Taxation. A further 14 prizes were awarded to the top student of a number of the School’s 200- and 300-level courses.

Sponsor representatives also attended the awards ceremony to celebrate the students’ success.

Chief Executive of the External Reporting Board, Warren Allen, congratulated the award-winners in his keynote address and encouraged them to appreciate the high quality of the courses they were studying. He also asked them to consider the public sector as an area where as graduates, they could contribute to New Zealand’s growth.

Warren Allen is also a member of the Advisory Board to both the School and the Centre for Accounting, Governance and Taxation Research.
