Congratulations to Professor Lisa Marriott who has been made a Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Fellow

Professor Lisa Marriott was recently awarded a Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Fellowship. These fellowships are awarded to reflect outstanding career achievements and contributions to the profession by chartered accountants.

Professor Marriott is a Professor in the School of Accounting and Commercial Law, teaching taxation at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Alongside this, she also researches taxation, with an interest in social justice, inequality and the behavioural impacts of taxation.

She was also awarded a Marsden grant to investigate the different treatments of tax evasion and welfare fraud in the New Zealand justice system, comparing tax evaders and welfare fraudsters.

Professor Marriott will also take up the role of Associate Dean Research in Victoria Business School in February 2019.
