Sarah Spencer runs the scanning electron microscopy suite at the Robinson Research Institute. Her work involves analysing samples for internal and external clients, training new users and carrying out instrument maintenance.
Sarah has experience in transmission electron microscopy for biological materials, polymers and nanoparticles, as well as expertise in histology (light microscopy) for biological materials and polymers.
She has worked at the Universities of Otago and Melbourne and ran the histology and electron microscopy lab at CSIRO for five years. Sarah has a Master's degree in marine science.
