    Research areas: Nonlinear optics, photolithography, ferroelectrics, strongly-correlated materials including superconductors and dilute magnetic semiconductors, spectroscopic techniques including Raman, photoemission and luminescence spectroscopies, computational methods for data analysis and calculation of materials properties.

    Research areas: My main area of research is Applied Cognitive Systems. Essentially, how to use inspiration from natural intelligence to enable computers/machines/robots to behave usefully. This includes: * Cognitive Robotics * Learning Classifier Systems (a branch of evolutionary computation) and * Modern Heuristics for industrial application.
