Pop music matters. A day long symposium packed full of inspiration and popular music discussion
Join us for a day-long symposium to celebrate the launch of our new minor in popular music studies. The day will be filled with formal and informal presentations as well as open discussions on the state of popular music studies today.

Keynote Speaker: Professor Sarah Baker, Griffith University
Music Industry Panel: Brooke Singer – Self-managed artist (French for Rabbits) and freelancer, Jonny Avery – producer, engineer and songwriter, Estère – artist and producer, and Tim Ward - San Fran, Club 121, Hawthorn Lounge.

Research presentations from Victoria University of Wellington staff and students from the New Zealand School of Music, Media Studies, Anthropology, and Va'aomanū Pasifika.

Tea and coffee and a light meal will be provided.
